This is the ideal class for beginners with no prior experience on a potter's wheel. Come solo, with a friend, or bring a date for a fun, hands-on session where we'll cover the basics of working with clay and get you spinning your very own pieces. In 90 minutes, you'll create one or two vessels, usually a bowl and cup, and afterward select a glaze color for your handmade pieces. I'll take care of firing them and your finished creations will be ready for pick up in 4-5 weeks.
Foundations of Pottery Series
In this 5-session series, we will explore the essentials of pottery with a special emphasis on working with the potter's wheel. You'll learn to create not only the basic forms of vessels but also the key techniques involved in trimming, glazing, firing and adding distinctive surface decorations that give your pieces a unique touch. The course spans six weeks with a one-week break toward the end for bisque firing your work. This series is designed to accommodate all skill levels making it perfect for both beginners and seasoned potters alike.
